FORT MYERS, FL. (May 19, 2016) –In April, Dr. Henry Venable, anesthesiologist for the Snead Eye Group’s Fort Myers Surgery Center, accompanied local resident Joseph Silvia a 92-year-old World War II veteran on Collier County Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Mr. Silvia served in the Air Force stationed in India during the war.

Dr. Venable is also a veteran. This was his second trip with the Collier County Honor Flight, which escorted 65 veterans from WWII and the Korean War to the Capitol for the day. Dr. Venable served as a helicopter pilot from 1973 to 1976. Then, as a doctor in the Army Reserve, he was active duty during Operation Desert Storm for eight months.
