A native of Wausau, Wisconsin, Dr. Etten has been a Florida resident since 1986. He earned his undergraduate degree at Florida State University and his Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. Clinical training included external rotations at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and the Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Etten has cultivated patient-forward Optometric services in South Florida since 1999. Dr. Etten is a contact lens specialist, adept with customized designs and is a member of the Scleral Contact Lens Society.

Dr. Etten enjoys all aspects of primary eye care, including pre and post operative LASIK and cataract management and the treatment of eye disease. Dr. Etten has practiced alongside pediatric specialists, and is comfortable with complex pediatric cases.

Dr. Etten is currently an Executive Officer of the Florida Optometric Association. He is a past-president of the Miami-Dade Optometric Physicians Association and a member of the American Optometric Association.
